Halkidiki olives PDO

 
 

These green, tangy in flavor, olives can be used to produce oil or served as table olives.

• exclusively produced in Halkidiki, Macedonia perfecture
• it’s a Protected Designations of Origin (PDO) product
• most of the time green, except when well ripened they get a faded black color. Their shape is conical-cylindrical and they are also known as “donkey-olives” due to their big size which varies from 4 to 14 gr.
• fruity, slightly bitter and spicy taste with lack of greasiness
• The green Halkidiki olives are cured in salted brine and sometimes in oil.
• These olives can be found also Black- The black Halkidiki olives are harvested in its adult stage which is about two months after the young green Halkidiki olives were harvested.
• This olive’s robust, meaty texture makes great snacks and appetizers, and when stuffed, they become a meal in themselves.
You can have them whole, engraved, pitted, sliced, stuffed
